Christine Cavanaugh's final movie role, as she retired from acting in 2001 due to being diagnosed with chronic myelogenous leukemia, and later died on December 22, 2014. Because of this, Nancy Cartwright became the new voice of Chuckie Finster starting with episodes of Rugrats (1991) that premiered after the release of this film and in Rugrats Go Wild (2003).
This movie was originally intended to be more of a musical, similar to The Rugrats Movie (1998). The Rugrats were set to sing "Chuckie Chan" and "Ooie Gooie World Theme" while Chuckie performed "I Want a Mom That Will Last Forever," though a much sillier version. While these songs remain in the movie, they are performed by other artists mostly non-diegetically. Only two songs ("Bad Girls" and "Packin' to Go") are still sung by the characters in the movie.
When Kira calls Stu, the call is shown to be transferred by map from Paris to the Pickle's house, placing them in southern California.
Currently this is Susan Sarandon's only G-rated movie. All of the other movies in which she has appeared have been rated PG or higher.
