Shammi Kapoor was going to make a film titled "Bluffmaster" with Subodh Mukherjee. After they had a fight, Shammi Kapoor left with the films title ( Since it was his suggestion). They fought over how much Shammi should be paid for Junglee .Shammi Kapoor walked off with the title and gave the title to Manmohan Desai.He then summoned him to make a film.
The famous Govinda aala re song was shot live and wasnt choreographed.
Govinda Ala Re is an all time favorite song which played during Dahi Handi festivals for years.
After Dev Anand rejected the song Aaj Kal Tere Mere Pyar Ke Charche in Jab Pyar Kisi Se Hots Hai 1961.Shammi Kapoor asked Manmohan Desai to add the song in the film.Manmohan Desai promised him to add the song but ran into financial trouble and couldn't add the song.
Nanda refused the film due to being uncomfortable with the idea of working with Shammi Kapoor.
