Halloween: Resurrection

FAQ

It was for this specific film. Also, the film crew within the movie likely staged a lot of the gags in order to scare the contestants.

Six thrill-seeking college students—Sara Moyer (Bianca Kajlich), Donna Chang (Daisy McCrackin), Jen Danzig (Katee Sackhoff), Jim Morgan (Luke Kirby), Bill Woodlake (Thomas Ian Nicholas), and Rudy Grimes (Sean Patrick Thomas)—are selected to appear on a live broadcast Internet reality show directed by Freddie Harris (Busta Rhymes) and his assistant Nora Winson (Tyra Banks) in which they will spend the night locked in serial killer Michael Myers' childhood home in Haddonfield, Illinois. Little do they know that Michael (Brad Loree) is coming home.

Halloween: Resurrection is the seventh movie in the Halloween storyline, following Halloween (1978) (1978), Halloween II (1981) (1981), Halloween 4: The Return of Michael Myers (1988) (1988), Halloween 5: The Revenge of Michael Myers (1989) (1989), Halloween: The Curse of Michael Myers (1995) (1995) and Halloween H20: 20 Years Later (1998) (1998). (Note that Halloween III: Season of the Witch (1982) (1982) is not a part of the series.) The screenplay was written by Larry Brand and Sean Hood.

It is briefly explained that Laurie Strode (Jamie Lee Curtis) killed the wrong person (a paramedic) on Halloween night by chopping off his head, thinking it was Michael Myers. Michael awoke in the ambulance, put his mask on on the paramedic and crushed his larynx so he couldn't speak.

In Halloween: Resurrection, Michael is 44 years old; in H20, he is 41; his age is 38 in The Curse of Michael Myers; he is 32 in Halloween 5; he is 31 in Halloween 4: The Return of Michael Myers; and 21 in Halloween and Halloween II.

With Deckard (Ryan Merriman) watching the videofeed and messaging Sara as to Michael's location in the house, Sara and Freddie look for a way out of the housse. Michael catches up to them and stabs Freddie. Sara runs down to the cellar and follows a tunnel that leads her to the garage where Nora had her videoscreens set up. She piles a table and a lawnmower on top of the tunnel exit, spilling gasoline on the floor. Michael enters the garage through a door and corners Sara. She grabs a chainsaw and swings it at Michael, accidentally hitting sosme of the video cables. The cables short out and fall to the floor, starting a fire fueled by the spilled gasoline. The chainsaw stops running, so Sara tosses it at Michael, knocking him off balance. Scrambling to get away from Michael, Sara trips on a cart, pulling it and some electronic equipment on top of her. Michael comes after her and, just as he's about to stab her, Freddie burst in the door and begins hitting Michael with the handle of a shovel. Michael tosses Freddie into the wall and starts after him, his knife raised for the kill. Freddie grabs some electronic cables and uses them to electrocute Michael before hoisting Sara on his shoulder and carrying her outside. Later, as firefighters put out the blaze that has pretty much burned the house to the ground, Freedie and Sara dodge reporters. In the final scene, Michael's body is wheeled into the morgue. When the pathologist opens the body bag, Michael's eyes snap open.

It is called: "Can't Change Your Mind", performed by Johnny Griparic and Rod Jackson. It may also be called "Knockdown Chant" (same band).

The Homecoming workprint is pretty similar to the finished Resurrection cut. There are only little important changes and not a single violence cut in Resurrection. Nonetheless one can find a detailed comparison with pictures here.
