Trivia

Gaddaar

Edit
Remake of The Asphalt Jungle (1950).
Film schedule lasted for 15 days in Simla.
Hong Kong film director Ringo Lam saw the Indian film Gaddaar (Vinod Khanna), years ago. He took the basic idea of the plot and made "City On Fire". Quentin Tarantino' saw that film and was inspired to make Reservoir Dogs. Sanjay Gupta decided to make his own version with Kaante.
Very first film where all lead characters had Grey shades.
The theme music of "For a Few Dollars More" is used as background music in the film Gaddaar (1973).The film's title sequence used the music. The song is titled "Medley: Titoli / La resa dei conti / Per quanche dollaro in più" by Ennio Morricone. Feroz Khan's Khote Sikkey also used the same music. Sanjay Khan's "Haseenon Ka Devta" also the same theme music in a few scene's.The song "Taare Aasman Ke Dharti Pe" from King Uncle, was inspired from many songs. At 0:12 of the song, the music was inspired from 0:05 from the theme "For a Few Dollars More". Then the song took inspiration from Boney M song "Jambo"(Bwana). The song "Aye Dil Mere Jaan" from Do Shikaari was also copied from the same theme of "For a Few Dollars More". The theme music was also used in a horse back riding scene with Danny and Rekha in Kali Ghata. The film Mere Adalat (1984) also used the same theme in a few scene's. The "For a Few Dollars More" music was also partly sampled for the title music of Laparwah (1981). The song "Vannam Indha Vanjin Vannam" from the film Prema Paasam (Gangai Amaran) and Kavita Krishnamurthy's part "Yeh Dil..." from the song "Yeh Dil Sun Raha Hain" from Khamoshi. The intro vocals of Anu Malik in the song " O Merr Neende Churane Wale" from Chamatkaar also sample the same song.
