The movie premiered on TV on the 8th December 2000, the 20th memorial day of John Lennon's death.
This is director Hendrik Handloegten's first feature film. It was his final movie during his study times at the German Movie- and Television Academy. It was only released on TV since as a student he didn't request any rights for images or music, as he feared that he won't receive any permission. So he didn't find any publisher who would distribute the movie commercially since for the rights of the Beatles recordings all members or their estate have to agree.
