This was the last film of Mohan Kumar as director then he took a break for about 8 years. His productions were directed by Ambrish Sangal, who was his assistant, and directed Atish, Aap To Aise Na The & Adaat Se Majboor for Mohan Kumar, who then returned to direction in 1983 with Avtaar and with this film, Rajesh Khanna returned to his top position.
After this film Dev Anand stopped accepting outside productions instead on his own productions. After about 15years, Dev, accepted 3 outside production because he liked the scripts, Lashkar, Return Of Jewel Thief & Aman Ke Farishtey.
One of the very successful film of Dev Anand in his later part of career. Amir Garib was Dev Anand"s 30th years in Indian Cinema.
Amir Garrib was one of Filmmaker Mohan Kumar"s successful films. Later after 9 years his film Avtaar was also his successful film and it boost Rajesh Khanna right to his top position.
