First of all, have Gwydion do household chores, feed chickens, clean floors, dusk the room and empty the chamber pot. Wait until Manannan leaves the house before you get any items. After the wizard leaves on a trip, go get the items for your magic spells, and explore the land around you.
Save often because Gwydion can get killed very easily, also hurry back before Manannan gets back. Hide all the items you collected and put the magic wand away in the cabinet or the wizard will find out and kill Gwydion.
