The scene where Govinda (a country bumpkin with a great voice) enters the TIPS Music Company with his friend (Satish Kaushik), finds its owner (Kadar Khan) meditating in his office and mistakes him for a statue is copied from a similar scene in "Yaarana" (1981) in which Amitabh Bachchan (also a country bumpkin with a great voice) enters a music company's office with his friend (Amjad Khan), finds its co-owner (Neetu Singh) meditating and mistakes her for a statue.
Film was supposed to release in late 1994 but kept running into production issues. When released in 1996 it was still a superhit.
Nadeem Shravan were offered the film but refused. They told the producer were not going to compose any double meaning cheap songs. The producer assured them the music would be clean.
Govinda,Karishma Kapoor and Tabu later teamed again for Shikari 2000.
