Touching film

Quite a well-made film, though it has its share of cliches. Sivaji does a good job, finally realising that his "good-for-nothing" son is the only one who truly loves him (the first of the many cliches). The screenplay is taut, which makes this one worth a dekko. Great song in Aaraariro paadiyathaaro (Ilayaraja, of course).

Sivaji Ganesan and Padmini give a fantastic performance of a elderly couple ,greatly in love. Sivaji plays a extremely successful man who is embarrassed by his not so successful youngest son Pandiarajan. The differences reach to a point where the son leaves the home. Padmini who loves both the father and son tries her best to reconcile them. The friction between the two is the story but the outstanding point of the movie is the performance of both Sivaji Ganesan and Padmini. The chemistry they have and acting skill is at another level.
