Was filmed in winter despite its title "Summer Dream" and setting in the Rio de Janeiro summer. The scenes set at the pool were shot in the cold.
Actress Fafy Siqueira was also part of the Xou da Xuxa (1988) cast and wrote some songs for Xuxa. She reportedly considers herself as one of the "paquitas".
The foreign girl Sergio Mallandro's character flirts with was one of Xuxa's Chilean stage assistants ("paquitas"), Maria José Llaneza.
