Though the theme was similar to that of Arth, the ending was more conventional, to cater to the commercial demands of the distributors. Shabana Azmi who played the wronged wife in both movies, stated in an interview that everyone expected this movie to be a big hit because of the ending, and Arth to flop. But the reality turned out to be vice versa.
