Twinkle Khanna and Govinda in Joru Ka Ghulam (2000)

Trivia

Joru Ka Ghulam

Edit
The entire sequence in which Govinda gets the better of a goon was a word-to-word copy of a scene from the Pakistani play "Humsa Ho To Samne Aye", written by and starring Pakistani legend Umer Shariff.
Remake of the Marathi movie Avaghachi Sansar (1960).
Nandu Tolani and David Dhawan had launched a film titled "Joru Ka Ghulam" in 1994. Starring Anil Kapoor, Govinda and Tabu. The film got shelved due to constant problems between Anil and Govinda. Their other film Deewana Mastana was already seeing constant delays due to this.
The song "Neeche Phoolon Ke Dukaan Upar Gori Ka Makaan" was originally sung by a drunk Amitabh Bachchan and Shashi Kapoor in a scene in the film Silsila. But that version was "Neeche Paan Ke Dukaan Upar Gori Ka Makaan". Both the songs seem to be inspired the traditional Rajasthani folk song "Upar Kanch Ko Banglo". A version of this song was filmed on Jagdeep in the Rajasthani movie Ramkudi Jhamkudi.
The film was Govinda's only solo film with Twinkle Khanna and it bombed.
