My friend Marie bought this movie at Walmart for $4.88, and she told me that this is probably going to be one of the worst movies that I will ever see. I must say that this is one of the worst movies I have ever seen. 2nd in line is Hobbs End, but that is another story and It is better than this one. the 3rd worst movie is Komodo. If anyone disagrees with me please tell me because I'm always looking forward to laughs. My friend Marie proudly states that she saw this movie 3 whole times in a week and a half. Imagine that! She says it's good quality tv...riiight. Ewww boooring. The beginning was incredibly slow and I had to keep my eyes open so I wouldn't fall asleep. I tried to split the scene several times but my friend made me stay for the whole movie. I actually don't remember much of it except for the scene where they are drinking beer, running around a musty house, a woman agent fighting with a guy holding an uzi and this monster that looks like the honeycomb monster thing off of the honeycomb box. My favorite scene was when honecomb jumped out of the shadows and attacked the guy and tossed his organs around. The ending was dumb, don't remember it, don't remember the beginning..there's not much to remember. So the grand rating for this movie is: 1.3/10 marie's rating: 9.2/10
This film has a great monster, atomospheric lighting, good camerawork, and an excellent music score. The sound quality was a bit muffled, but other than that this was one of the better "B" movies I've seen in awhile. And the DVD is packed with great extras like a 42-minute behind-the-scenes that's a textbook case study in the making of low budget indie movies. Definitely a must-have for B-movie enthusiasts!
A Top Secret Government project decides to set up its laboratory in the basement of an abandoned old house. They're using genetics to create an intelligent, regenerating mutant critter for the purposes of warfare.Even more inevitably, four teenagers decide to pick that night to camp out in the spooky old house."Carnivore" is absolutely bad and painful to watch.Whoever give it a 10 needs to have his/her head examined.I can't believe that it took almost twelve years to make this piece of cow dung. The acting is horrendous, the creature looks lame and there is absolutely no suspense.A couple of gore scenes can't save this this boring trash from fading into total obscurity.Watch this one only under the influence of alcohol.3 out of 10 and that's being kind.
Ok, I bought this movie as kind of a gamble buy. I must say as a gamble I absolutely lost this one. This movie is awful. At several points i had to turn the TV to full vol. just to hear the characters speak.
However... This movie does have one redeeming quality, besides that very arousing sex scene(joking). This movie is perfect to watch at about 4 or 5 in the morning with a bunch of friends, you will laugh your heads off at it. Have fun making fun of this one people!

This easily ranks as one of the worst horror movies i have ever seen. And i have seen hundreds and hundreds. I love low-budget "so bad they're good" cult movies as much as the next fan of the horror genre, but Carnivore is just bad, bad, bad! UTTERLY TERRIBLE!!!
Where to begin? The video box makes the plot sound like it would be at least a partially entertaining horror movie. Nothing could be further from the truth. Everything about this film is B-O-R-I-N-G. The laughable monster looks like a Halloween mask with fur on it. The "death special effects" are some of the worst i have ever seen. Also, it tries to be funny many times during the movie and fails completely. The budget on this was obviously only a couple thousand dollars at most.
THE ACTING? THE DIRECTING? Very, very bad on both counts. A complete amateur mess. If this was the director's first film then i would recommend...FINDING ANOTHER LINE OF WORK!!!
THE PICTURE? This was obviously shot on video, i rented the DVD for Carnivore, and i've seen bad VHS tapes with a better picture! It is also as if they used hardly no lighting at all, the film is so dark at times that it's like watching a black screen.
THE SOUND? It sounds like a raw mix recorded on noisy sets. Most of the time you can barely understand the dialogue. An elementary student could have done a better job.
It's amazing that a reputable company such as 20th Century Fox is distributing this film. Horror fans, stay clear of this garbage, there are tons of better movies out there. It's not even worth watching once, it really is that bad. I feel very sorry for anyone who actually thinks this is a good movie. I would not even give this 1 out of 10.

- TriviaThis movie was filmed between 1989-1991 as a micro-budget indie, then spent the next 7 years seeking completion funds. Finally finished in 2000, it was released as a rental title by Spartan Home Entertainment, then picked up a year later as a sell-through title by Fox, who proceeded to botch the manufacturing and mistakenly only release the full screen version with bad sound and no extras.
