      Awesome Movie

I really liked this movie. It helps people look at the oppression put on others because of gender. I thought the movie was of HIGH "Hollywood" type quality and would pay money to see this type of movie in theaters. It also shows perseverance and how to handle people who tell you NO! This is a GREAT family movie and most of my family has seen it and loves it. The story starts out as a young middle school aged girl who tries to get into the school basketball program, but finds resistance because it is said to be a "Man's" sport. It shows the struggles of the parents, the young girl "Bobbie Dean", the school officials, and the boys at the school and on other teams. I especially like how the parents play a supportive role. They are willing to totally support their daughter through this hard and sometimes embarrassing time.

cute film that deserves to be picked up for distribution!

i saw the world premiere of this film in the Chicago International Children's Film Festival, and got to interview and talk to Lindsay, who played the main character of Bobbie Dean. She was great, the whole film was really good. It was about a talented basketball player in the 50s, who was not allowed to play on any official teams because she was a girl. Bobbie first masks her gender to be allowed to play, then is convinced by one coach who believes in her, to fight to be allowed to play as a girl. Her school even takes legal action to prevent her from playing. This film is inspiring, and deserves to be picked up and distributed!
