Arabella, mereröövli tütar (1982)

Trivia

Arabella, mereröövli tütar

Edit
Based on a book written by Aino Pervik.
The role of the blind narrator was supposed to be played by Joel Steinfeldt, an Estonian singer, but when the movie was shot, he got banned by the Ministry of Culture of Estonian SSR. So the part was played by Sulev Luik and Steinfeldt did the voiceover.
In the scene where Taaniel Tina has to hit his own daughter, the slapping was done by director Peeter Simm instead of Lembit Peterson who played Tina. Peterson said he cannot hit a child.
Stuntman Aldo Tammsaar was almost killed during the making of the movie. He was shooting pistols and running along a metal pole which was over 6 meters above ground. Because an error the pyrotechnic engineer had done, all the blanks went off simultaneously which made Tammsaar to lose his balance. There were no safety nets or safety wires, so his fall would have ended with death or serious injuries. Fortunately, Tammsaar managed to regain his balance.
Inga-Kai Puskar, who played Arabella, did not know her long hair will be cut off until the day when the scene was shot. That made her very upset. She has told later that whether Urmas Kibuspuu or Tõnu Kark tried to make her happy by saying that the hair will grow back and even made an example: his leg was cut off in another movie, but it grew back.
