According to an excerpt from the first script reprinted in the DVD booklet, Ing. Evert Van Der Pik was originally going to be called 'Ing. J. Kar'. This name was no doubt inspired on the man who plays the part: Jaap Bar.
Singer Robert Long filmed a performance for an early episode, which was never broadcast. Apparently because of objections from his management or record company. All that remains from is appearance are several behind the scenes pictures that are visible on the DVD boxed set and it's accompanying booklet.
Donna Summer's career started in this show. She appeared three times and was clearly amused by the weird behavior of Sjef van Oekel. In an interview in 2008, she recalls the fun she had during the recording of the show.
