The film reunites quite a number of established couples: Plien van Bennekom and Bianca Krijgsman, who play the gossip ladies, had a joined comedy act for years in the Netherlands as 'Plien & Bianca'; Wim T. Schippers and Paul Haenen, who both voice cats, do the voices of Ernie and Bert in the Dutch dub of Sesame Street (1969); Hans Teeuwen and Kim van Kooten, who also voice cats, briefly dated while they were in Jezus is een Palestijn (1999) together. Carice van Houten and Theo Maassen had previously co-starred in Theo Maassen, and would appear again together in Black Book (2006), but as adversaries.
