Back in late September 2024, 20th Century Studios announced that it would be remaking the 1992 thriller classic The Hand That Rocks the Cradle with Longlegs actress Maika Monroe leading the cast. Now, we've just learned of a potential new cast addition. Scream queen Mary Elizabeth Winstead is reportedly in talks to join the remake, starring opposite Monroe.
Conversations are currently being had about Winstead joining the movie, but she has not officially signed on yet. Fingers crossed, an official agreement is reached because we would love to see her and fellow scream queen Maika Monroe act together, especially after knowing who they will be playing in the movie.

Were you as pleased as we were that the judges saved the Mantis on the April 5 episode of “The Masked Singer”? We liked this fellow from the moment he strode on stage and blew the roof off the joint with his rollicking rendition of “Old Time Rock and Roll” by Bob Seger.
We were disappointed when he lost the Battle Royale to Dandelion after they duelled on the ditty “(I’ve Got A) Golden Ticket” from “Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory.” But then we were delighted when Robin Thicke rang the Ding Dong Keep It On bell and kept him in the competiton.
We’ve rewatched both of the performances by the Mantis as well as his clues package. Forget those guesses by the judges that Dandelion is Kevin Bacon, Dennis Quaid,Keanu Reeves or Bruce Springsteen. We are convinced we’ve cracked the code and know the name...

In the past two decades, actor Paul Wesley has come pretty far. He started in some minor roles before finding fame as Stefan Salvatore in The Vampire Diaries, and all of a sudden, fans couldn’t get enough. The actor is known for his ability to make any character come to life, and it is always a treat when we get to see him in action.
Fans were stunned, however, when Wesley sat down for an interview and went into depth about how he feels about the characters he has played and what he hopes to do in other projects. As it turns out, Wesley’s dream role will most likely never reach the screen.
What roles has Paul Wesley taken on?
Getting his start in 1999, Paul Wesley has several acting credits to his name. His first role was in the daytime soap Another World. Since then, he hasn’t looked back.

The music of “The White Lotus,” “Severance,” “Stranger Things” and “Schmigadoon!” won Creative Arts Emmys Sunday night in a mixture of predicted wins and upsets.
The big winner was Chilean-born, Montreal-based composer Cristobal Tapia de Veer who walked off with a pair of statues for his music for HBO’s “The White Lotus,” for main title theme music and for music composition for a limited or anthology series, movie or special.
His primal drumbeats, wordless voices and wooden flutes set a tropical vibe for the Hawaiian resort and its offbeat visitors. And although it was entered in the “limited series” category, “The White Lotus” is slated to return for a second season.
Theodore Shapiro won his first Emmy for “Severance,” in the category of music composition for a series. This marks the first major industry award for the widely respected composer, who has never been nominated for the Oscar (despite...

The musical score of “The Good Place” has been essential to the show’s success as a show that gives the audience feelings of warmth and great tension. David Schwartz has been the NBC sitcom’s composer from the start, writing its celestial main theme and the rest of the show’s score. Schwartz, a veteran composer who has racked up three nominations at the Emmys and another at the Grammys, is heavily involved week to week in crafting “The Good Place” score. “I come in every week with the music editor, Jason Newman, the two editors, whoever’s episode it is, [Michael] Schur and a couple of the producers and we talk about first where music should go and second what it should be,” Schwartz explains. “It’s a pretty detailed conversation.” Watch our exclusive video interview above.

These 7 TV shows were making false wolf-related promises. With the help of Ms Paint and a lack of journalistic dignity, we fixed that…
Den Of Geek has no truck with the figurative. We cannot sanction its buffoonery. That is to say, if a TV show wants to use the word ‘wolf’ in its title, it had better feature a wolf.
It’s not as though it’s hard. A number of shows manage to deliver on their wolf-related promises. Teen Wolf. Wolfblood. Wolf’s Rain. Wolf Lake. She-Wolf Of London… they’re packed to the rafters with lupine glory. The shows that aren’t but profess to be in their titles need to take a long, hard look at themselves. Whoever they’re trying to impress with their wolflessness, it isn’t working.

CBS is giving viewers a second chance to experience "Jericho," "Swingtown" and "Wolf Lake."
The network has added all episodes of the three drama to CBS.com for viewing.
“'Jericho, 'Swingtown' and 'Wolf Lake' pushed the boundaries, exploring some of the most popular themes in television today: post-cataclysmic life, the social and cultural mores of a generation, and the supernatural," Jeff Grossman, vice president of content and product strategy for CBS Interactive, said in a statement. "Over the years, fans have told us they'd like to experience these shows again, and through CBS.com, we're able to resurface programming that not only captivated viewers but broke new ground."
"Jericho," starring Skeet Ulrich, Lennie James and Ashley Scott, followed the residents of a Kansas town that is left isolated after a nuclear disaster. "Jericho" was canceled after its first season, but CBS revived the show amid fan outcry and it lasted for another season.

Could we interest you in a sexy werewolf drama starring Mary Elizabeth Winstead and Paul Wesley? How about a saucy '70s drama from the creator of "Revenge"? Or perhaps a post-apocalyptic drama guaranteed to drive audiences nuts? As part of its Second Look feature, CBS is putting all of the episodes for "Jericho," "Swingtown" and "Wolf Lake" up on CBS.com for the summer, allowing viewers to experience a trio of dramas they didn't necessarily flock to when they were actually airing. War is never pretty, especially if it involves an alien invasion.
After a far-off solar system is destroyed, several remaining extraterrestrial races, collectively known as Votans, venture to Earth seeking a fresh start. Unsympathetic to their plight, the planet's nations turn them away, sparking a devastating battle that leaves the globe and environment drastically changed forever. Thirty-four years later, the two sides have called a ceasefire and are trying to coexist in this hostile new frontier. That's the premise behind the ambitious sci-fi drama "Defiance" (premiering April 15 on Showcase and SyFy).
The series finds anti-hero Joshua Nolan (Grant Bowler, "Ugly Betty"), a reluctant lawkeeper, attempting to keep the peace in the small town of Defiance, where cultures clash and internal, as well as external, conflicts jeopardize their existence. To make matters worse, a tremendous amount of technology has been lost. There's still functioning electricity, but no satellites, internet or air travel.

After cutting her teeth on television, in both daytime and primetime soaps -- as a good girl amid witches and demons and hell portals on NBC's Passions; a troubled teen on CBS's short-lived Wolf Lake -- Mary Elizabeth Winstead jumped into films and almost right away began making a reputation for herself as a fresh face in genre movies. Wolf Lake is a strange show with a slightly bizarre cast. Lou Diamond Phillips, Tim Matheson and Graham Greene more or less star in this mystery series that came out in the wake of The X-Files and other “supernatural”-type shows. That’s not necessarily a bad thing, mind you, as Wolf Lake is one of the stronger shows to come out of that era.
The basic premise is that Phillips’s character, Detective John Kanin, tries to piece his life together after proposing to his girlfriend and having her attacked by a mysterious creature almost immediately after. Returning to his small town of Wolf Lake, Officer Kanin begins investigating his girlfriend’s disappearance after finding only a severed hand at the scene. Kanin discovers that the town is inhabited by werewolves.

Pier Paolo Pasolini’S Trilogy Of Life (Criterion) Pier Paolo Pasolini was Italy’s last Neo-Realist, a product of post-ww II Europe who was fervently Catholic, openly gay, defiantly Marxist, and one of the most original voices of the 20th century’s second half. Before his brutal murder in 1975 (after the premiere of his still-controversial swan song, “Salo”), Pasolini directed a trilogy of films based on masterpieces of medieval literature: Boccaccio’s “The Decameron,” Chaucer’s “The Canterbury Tales,” and “The Thousand and One Nights (also known as “The Arabian Nights”). The three films celebrate the uninhibited, earthy, raw carnal nature of the original texts, leaving little to the imagination, but also offering Pasolini’s own very unique and pointed views on modern society, consumerism, religious and sexual mores (and hypocrisies), and an unexpurgated celebration of the human body, both male and female. Extraordinary production design by Dante Ferretti and another evocative,...

At The Vampire Diaries convention in Chicago yesterday, Paul Wesley dished on swimming with dolphins, yearning to direct and taking over Ian Somerhalder's body for a day - but first he dispelled a rumor started by Daniel Gillies.
During his Q&A session at the event, Gillies said Wesley took the longest of all Tvd stars to get primped for a scene. But Wesley offered to bring in proof to contradict this claim - call sheets that detailed how he was only required to show up 30 minutes prior to a scene for makeup, versus one hour for the other two leads - and concluded:
"I think he's just confused because I look the best."
It was that kind of informative, fun hour with the actor. I've recorded most of the back-and-forth below...

The 2010-11 season is still pretty young, but it's safe to say that it's not going down in TV history as the start of a new golden age.
So far no new series has established itself as a breakout hit or etched itself on the pop-culture landscape. Yes, there have been some popular successes ("Hawaii Five-0," "Mike & Molly") and a few critical darlings ("Boardwalk Empire," "Terriers"), but nothing so far has broken into the Holy-cow-did-you-see-that-last-night club.
The relative lack of buzz around this fall's crop of new shows got us thinking: Which season in the past decade or so has produced the best new TV? A New werewolf-themed series is being developed by DreamWorks TV for the Fox network, reports Variety.
Howl will be "an epic family saga about warring families of werewolves in a small Alaskan town."
It will be written by Joshua Miller and M.A. Fortin and reflects the changes going on in the country.

Just because Twilight is a success doesn't mean werewolves always work. It'll be interesting to see what happens once Universal's The Wolfman hits theaters. Will a success push us to the brink of werewolf madness? Anyways, Fox network is looking to get into the werewolf business, developing "Howl," from DreamWorks TV. "Howl" is described as an epic family saga about warring families of werewolves in a small Alaskan town. The project is being written by Joshua Miller and M.A. Fortin. "Alaska is a place where people disappear and now you know why," Miller said. I guess he's never heard of "30 Days of Night"? One of the Fox network's first series, 1987's "Werewolf," also revolved around the mythic creatures. More recently, CBS aired the short-lived "Wolf Lake," while MTV is currently developing a new take on the 1980s movie "Teen Wolf."...

Hey, what's this? Fox is getting cozy with another werewolf show and it isn't Michael Dougherty's Bitches (announced last year here )? According to Variety, Dreamworks TV and the Fox network are developing Howl , about feuding werewolf families in a small Alaska town. Joshua Miller and M.A. Fortin are penning the series. "Alaska is a place where people disappear and now you know why," Miller tells Variety adding that their show is about, "the psychology of living with change." Fox ran Werewolf in the '80s; there was also She Wolf of London and Wolf Lake on other networks. As for Dougherty's Bitches , the writer-director told us in July it was being put on hold, however, he followed that in October saying it was still being kicked around.

One Variety report about The Twilight Saga: Eclipse casting, and the Twilight world knows her name. She is Jodelle Ferland, and she has recently been announced (by both Variety and herself) as a new cast member for the third in the Twilight film series. Though her role is as yet unknown, Variety states that Ferland will portray "a vampire who has just been turned." While the barely there description could apply to a host of characters in Eclipse, the most prominent (female) vampress in the book series is Bree - a newborn vampire who survives the initial vampire showdown, but whose bloodlust for Bella puts her in a precarious circumstances. Ultimately, despite Carlisle's extension of an offering to care for and develop Bree's, ahem, socially responsible behavior, the Volturi guard present after the battle will not allow for it (pennance for her work with Victoria (to be portrayed by Bryce Dallas Howard...

All right, Fangoria Campers. You may recall that in a prior installment (read it here) I tackled the idea of the Best Horror on TV. Ever. I listed a number of appropriate series possibilities, and invited you to kick other nominees into the list. What we’re going to do now is narrow that list down to 15. You give me your top Five based on the list, and I’ll compile the top 15 nominees for a later installment. I ask that you stick to the list; however, if you offer a compelling case for a show that I or the commenting readers missed the first time around, I might be convinced to add it.
So now, the list:
Buffy the Vampire Slayer Angel The Twilight Zone The X-Files Dark Shadows Tales from the Crypt Tales from the Darkside Night Gallery Kolchak; The Night Stalker Supernatural Twin Peaks Friday the 13th:...

Apologies to the legions of Fango Faithful: inasmuch as I've been trying to get on a regular schedule with Unkillable Classics, a number of obstacles have thrown their limbs in the way. No matter. We're forging ahead. For this installment, I'd initially considered discussing Let The Right One In, but I'm almost afraid of overexposing it in a way at this point. Maybe we'll give it some time and come back. For the moment, though, I'd like to swing away from film and discuss a different kind of classic: TV. I'm inviting you, the reader, to help me divine the greatest horror-related TV shows of all time.
Here's how we'll do this: I'm going to kick out a list of a few dozen classic series. You can respond with some that I may have neglected to include. From there, the next few installments of Unkillable Classics will follow this thread,...

Other acquired titles include the series Kindred, the Embraced, Level 9, Special Unit 2 and All Souls. Sci Fi said it's planning to premiere Enterprise, a Star Trek prequel that stars Scott Bakula and ran from 2001-05 on UPN, in early fall. Wainwright lights way to 'Fog' remake
British helmer Rupert Wainwright has signed on to direct the remake of John Carpenter's classic horror thriller The Fog for Revolution Studios. Debra Hill, David Foster and Carpenter are producing the film, which Cooper Layne is penning from the screenplay written by Hill and Carpenter for the original 1980 film. Wainwright, whose credits include 1999's Stigmata, had been due to direct MGM's Blood and Chocolate but is now expected to leave that project, for which MGM is likely to enlist a new director. Fog is set in a Northern Californian town about 100 years ago where a ship sank under mysterious circumstances in a thick, eerie fog. The ghosts of the deceased mariners return from their watery graves to seek their revenge. Wainwright's credits include The Sadness of Sex, Blank Check and the TV project Wolf Lake. He is repped by UTA.
