A Change of Heart

Edit
Janet McBride was introduced in this movie.
Initially, Gloria Romero turned down the role due to schedule conflicts with a TV series she was also doing at that time. She suggested Anita Linda to be cast instead. However, director Laurice Guillen had no other actress in mind to play the role of the family matriarch, but Romero. Guillen's husband, Johnny Delgado, who was a co-star of Romero in the TV series, and who was also part of this movie, persuaded the actress to do the film.
The church scene in which Shaina Magdayao was asking question to Gloria Romero, was spoofed in another Star Cinema Film Tanging Ina starring Aiai delas Alas where Magdayao is also part.
The iconic scene where Gloria Romero's character was about to recieve the Holy Communion, was spoofed by Aiai delas Alas in the movie Tanging Ina.
Gloria Romero won her first FAMAS best actress award in 1954 for her role as the iconic "Manang Biday" for the film Dalagang Ilokana, after a span of 47 years this is the second time she won the FAMAS in a lead actress category.
