This is one of the animated TV shows to ever include a female Native American. Indigenous women stereotypes were originally grounded from appearing on TV during the Seal of Good Practice before 1983 for their suggestively offensive portrayals.
Paw Paws (1985) was removed from circulation after it last broadcast on Boomerang TV channel in the early 2000s due to the racist stereotyping among Native Americans. According to io9 in 2014, this is one of the 12 cartoons of the 1980s that did not deserve remembrance, declaring Hanna-Barbara was wrong and racist.
