Riekes Liebe (2001)

Trivia

Riekes Liebe

Edit
The movie was inspired by a real-life case of incest between two siblings who were both figure skaters in Germany. The case was reported in 1999 by a German magazine called Stern.
The movie was originally intended to be a theatrical release, but it was eventually aired on German television in 2001.
In a 2001 interview at German newspaper BZ, Laura Syniawa admitted her role wasn't an easy one to play. "I thought long and hard about whether I shouldn't turn down the offer. I had long discussions about the risky scenes with the director Kilian Riedhof. He promised me not to film in a sensationalist way. Florian [Stetter] and I were also given a week of rehearsals to get to know each other before filming began." Asked what was the worst scene for her, Syniawa said, "That was a bed scene, of course. But the team created a calm atmosphere. And I already knew Florian well. It's not a nice scene, it's very emotional and tragic."
The movie used real ice rinks and stadiums for its skating scenes.
