Trivia

Summer Things

Edit
The film was a box-office hit in France, selling over 1,3 million tickets and ranking at number 24 on the list of the highest-grossing films in France in 2002.
Gaspard Ulliel's second feature film, but the first one where he had a speaking role.
This film's sequel, Kiss & Tell (2018), was released 16 years later and includes most of the original main cast reprising their roles, with the exception of Gaspard Ulliel, who was replaced by an another actor, Guillaume Labbé, who was unknown at the time. Director Michel Blanc explained his decision to replace the actor by saying that Ulliel, who was just starting out at the time he did this film, became a star, and by casting him, Blanc risked losing the "choral" side of the film (in French, "film choral" means "ensemble film"). Blanc explained the problem to Ulliel because he didn't want him to feel left out, and Ulliel told the director that he didn't know what to do with the character.
Adaptation of Joseph Connolly's 1998 bestselling novel "Summer Things". In the novel, the action takes place in the UK, while the film is mostly set in France.
Karin Viard and Gaspard Ulliel worked together again in La vengeance au triple galop (2021).
