An Enraged New World (2002)

Trivia

An Enraged New World

Edit
Director Mike A. Martinez got the idea to ask Gordon Mitchell to act in the film shortly after reading an interview with him in "Filmfax" magazine in January, 2001 titled the "Muscle Beach Maciste", an issue Martinez picked up on a whim in a coffee shop while on vacation.
Brian Klapstein was cast as the Space Captain because he was the only person the director knew who could fit into the spacesuit costume. Bought off eBay, the costume arrived far smaller than anticipated and there wasn't enough budget to procure a new one.
The script makes two cameos in the film: first as the piece of paper in Roger's hand during the first hiking scene, and later as the clipboard behind Barbara in the close-up of the phone in her hand.
The background art in the scenes with Gordon Mitchell consists of one of the many expressionistic artworks Mitchell has painted in recent years. He painted this piece expressly for this film.
This is director Martinez's first film since Attack of the Flesh Devouring Space Worms from Outer Space (1998) to feature a significant number of female characters.
