Spooky Goings On

When brother-in-law Jack Rice sells the house they're renting from under them, Edgar and the rest of them have to relocate to a haunted house in this pleasant entry in the Edgar Kennedy 'The Average Man' short comedy series from RKO.

Comedies set in haunted houses were long a staple of the movies, and Kennedy's cohorts run through a nice set of gags, with an amusing conclusion to the film. It's nice to see Florence Lake, Edgar's most frequent co-star as his wife, do some physical comedy as well as her usual deft tongue-twisting malapropisms.
