    What I expected

It was exactly what I expected. Nothing more nothing less. A decent script turned into a decent movie. That's ok with me. I've had fun watching it. The storyline is good, with no exaggerations, and the atmosphere is quite tense. So, I think it is a movie that may not be remembered, but on the other hand it's a movie that delivers what it promises.

    New Zealand/Aussie "American" accents

I enjoyed this TV movie, but something about it kept irritating the heck out of me. Not enough to make me quit watching, though.

This is one of those movies made with American stars in New Zealand or Australia, but the action is supposed to be taking place somewhere in the United States. In this movie, it's the American Northwest.

However, the rest of the cast are actors from New Zealand or Australia, so they have to fake an American accent. Some actors are better at this than others.

Often the faked American accent fails when the actor is required to yell a line. Whatever, it's really, really distracting.

Just a complaint, that's all. As I said, I enjoyed this movie nevertheless.

Wonderful film to watch. Nitpickers never will be happy.

If you want to be entertained, this is a wonderful film. If you are the type of person who goes to movies looking for imperfections, you will find them. The reviewers of this film have forgotten the main purpose of the genre - entertainment. The interaction between Caan and Schaech was perfect. The movie carries us until the climax. Which was very satisfying.

I would watch this film again.

Nice setup for a better thriller

Seattle cop Daniel Pruitt (Johnathon Schaech) is getting away from it all. While camping out in the woods, his wife Jessica (Elizabeth Lackey) is attacked. On the way to the hospital, they nearly crash into a semi-trailer. Jessica claims that the driver is her assailant. Daniel beats up the man and locks him up in the trailer. Then in the hospital, she claims the male nurse is her attacker. Daniel realizes his mistake, but before he could fix it, sheriff Morgan McKenna (James Caan) turns up at the hospital and reveals that the truck's driver is actually his son. He's been killed and they found Daniel's gun at the scene. The sheriff assumes that the attacker was at both crime scenes picking up the gun in the woods and dropping it by the trailer. The sheriff takes along Daniel on his investigation.

The concept is set up for a better thriller. However it needs to be more exciting. Johnathon Schaech is not a compelling lead. He needs to show the tension wearing on him better. He's not a good enough actor. The movie loses steam after a promising start.

    Some serious bad writing.

You can have good actors, a great crew working on the movie and more than enough money to do the things you want to but when you have a bad script it all ends and a movie just can not work out.

"Blood Crime" has a bad written script. Well, perhaps bad is not the most correct word to use since the story is more just an highly unlikely one. You just never get sucked into it because it all and the way the story progresses seem so highly unlikely. You can say that I even was a bit annoyed by the movie its story at times. It isn't credible and has some gaping plot-holes. Seriously, when your name is Preston A. Whitmore II you should be writing some better movies than this.

Because the story isn't much good basically nothing really ever works out in the movie. Sure the movie has James Caan in it but this really doesn't make this movie any more good or interesting to watch.

You movie you can really easily do without.

The car had a flat tire at the crash scene and it was driven on the flat tire to the hospital. Doing so would be difficult since it was a drive (rear) wheel. It would also wear the tire down to two rubber strips. When the tire was changed at the hospital, it had no wear damage.
