Steve Martin and Queen Latifah in Bringing Down the House (2003)

Trivia

Bringing Down the House

Edit
According to the DVD commentary, the house in which Kate Sanderson (Jean Smart) lives is the same house from Father of the Bride (1991), also starring Steve Martin.
Michael Rosenbaum wore a wig as Todd Gendler due to shaving his head for the role of Lex Luthor on Smallville (2001).
When Queen Latifah first read the original script for Bringing Down the House, she insisted that changes be made because of its overtly inappropriate language and racial slurs.
According to Eugene Levy, Queen Latifah rewrote many of his lines in the film. During his first scene, he said he felt uncomfortable with some of the lines as written and asked for Latifah's opinion. She confirmed that she wouldn't say the lines and offered the iconic "You got me straight trippin', boo" and help adjust the rest of the script as well.
In one of Steve Martin's early comedy skits, he can't pronounce the word "abominable". Mrs. Virginia Arness Joan Plowright, near the end when she is stoned, struggles in a similar way to say the word "abominably".
