Adrian Edmondson and Rik Mayall in Bottom 2001: An Arse Oddity (2001)

Trivia

Bottom 2001: An Arse Oddity

Edit
Whilst performing the show in London, on the second night Rik Mayall accidentally hit Adrian Edmondson with the frying pan during their opening fight sequence, knocking him unconscious, splitting his head open and leaving him with concussion. The show had to be cancelled and Edmondson taken to hospital. The show resumed the following night with rubber props to protect the actors. Also due to the stitches in Edmondson's head, film footage from earlier in the tour had to be used for the video and DVD release of the show.
Richie mentions Spudgun went to star in his own series with Lee Evans. Which is Lee Evans: So What Now? (2001) starring Steven O'Donnell, who played Spudgun in the Bottom (1991) sitcom.
When Richie is talking about the actor who plays him, but cannot remember his name, Richie says "That tosser who fell off the quad bike". A reference to a real life event, which Rik Mayall fell off a quad bike and nearly died.
In Act II, Richie tries to remember the name of the actor who plays him and mentions the actor's quad bike accident, which Eddie comments that he didn't fix the quad bike's brakes properly. This mocks Rik Mayall's real life accident which he fell off a quad bike and hit his head.
The first of the live stage shows which Richie and Eddie do not die at the end.
