“A Lifetime” is a new film launched this week by Animal Defenders International (Adi) about the brutal short lives of two foxes, brothers Borys and Eryk, born and killed on a Polish fur farm.
Adi placed hidden cameras on the farm to capture this rare insight into an industry that kills more than 100 million animals a year.
Watch the film here.
Joanna Lumley and Brian Blessed are backing Adi’s campaign to end the fur trade.
Animal Defenders International President Jan Creamer said: “Over 100 million animals die for their fur every year. Our film shows the lives of these intelligent, feeling individuals and the cruelty they suffer when treated like a product. Just because they are not like us. Playful fox cubs Borys and Eryk, grow up in a small cage and die a terrifying and painful death for vanity and trinkets. This is the real cost of fur – when you buy fur,...

A new international trailer lands for the Woody Woodpecker movie...
Update: It's been a while, but Woody Woodpecker completists, fear no more. A new international trailer for the upcoming movie has been released. And you can view it right here...
You are very welcome.
Previously (December 2016)
Thanks to Universal's Brazillian wing (Wing! get it? Like a bird's wing!) here is the first trailer for the live-action Woody Woodpecker movie. In the sense, that is, that the movie is live-action, because the Woodpecker most definitely is not.
The film's director is Alex Zamm, previously culpable for Jingle All the Way 2, Beverly Hills Chihuahua 2, Inspector Gadget 2... You know what? That's a lot of number twos.
Zamm did direct some episodes of the Upright Citizen's Brigade TV show and he does have Timothy Omundensen here - the bearded man getting gunged, previously popular in Psych and Gallivant.

Despite being critically panned, an under-performer at the box office and the second-worst film of Arnold Schwarzenegger's '90s career (after Batman & Robin), Jingle All the Way has miraculously spawned a sequel.
There's no place for Arnie in the belated follow-up, however, as Larry the Cable Guy takes on the role of a laid-back dad struggling to get his daughter the sought-after Harrison Bear for Christmas.
A co-production between 20th Century Fox and WWE Studios, the comedy features wrestler Santino Marella in a prominent role with Brian Stepanek, Kristen Robek and Kennedi Clements in the cast.
Director Alex Zamm, whose previous credits include Tooth Fairy 2, Beverly Hills Chihuahua 2 and Inspector Gadget 2, is pulling a double shift as the voice of the bear.
Jingle All the Way 2 will be heading straight to DVD and Blu-ray on December 2.

A sequel to the greatest Christmas film of all time is finally being made, without its original star.
It's Turbo Time again. But not the Turbo Time you remember. That Turbo Time is gone forever, like a a fart from Ted the Reindeer in the winter wind. Admit it: Jingle All the Way is a guilty pleasure that is best consumed in secret every holiday, like cheap boxed wine. Even now, the classic lines from that film are running through your head with a bad Austrian accent tied to it.
If you felt a great disturbance in the Force today, it was because millions of Jingle All the Way fans screamed out in terror, and were suddenly silenced. It came as news broke that Twentieth Century Fox and WWE Studios (yeah, there's a movie studio for a fake sport) were teaming up on a Jingle All the Way sequel. It...

Director Alex Zamm has produced some of the most asinine movies you ever saw on a DVD shelf. From Carrot Top's Chairman Of The Board to Inspector Gadget 2 to Tooth Fairy 2 and an upcoming new version of The Little Rascals, Zamm is essentially the go-to guy for all those Dtv sequels and prequels that leave you shaking your head with "just why?" rolling off your tongue. With that said, I have to give Zamm at least a little credit for this test reel for adaptations...

Spanky, Alfalfa, Buckwheat, and the rest of the Little Rascals are getting another feature film treatment. Universal Pictures is planning another film, and they've hired Alex Zamm to direct it. Does the world really need another Little Rascals movie? No. But it's happening.
Did any of you like the 1994 Little Rascals big screen adaptation? I thought it was terrible. For those of you not even familiar with this franchise, it's based on a cinematic series called Our Gang, which aired during late 1930s and ‘40s. It was adapted for television in the '50s. I will say if that make this reboot a period piece that takes place in the '30s that might be interesting, but chances are they'll just give it a modern update for audiences like they did in '94.
As for the director, Zamm, there's a reason you've never heard of him, he's made films such as.

File this one under “I’m sorry, what?” Universal already made some unexpected mint with their Three Stooges reboot from earlier this year, so why not give that same treatment to something like, oh, how about The Little Rascals? What, you don’t care about The Little Rascals? Moviehole (via Cinema Blend) reports that Universal is rebooting the classic ’30s and ’40s television show Our Gang for a new feature that will also draw inspiration from the 1994 feature film that attempted to make the cute-kids-being-tricksters trope feel more modern, with surprisingly okay results (that one also came from Uni). The film doesn’t yet have a cast, but they’ve lined up one heck of a director. The new Rascals will be helmed by one Alex Zamm, possessor of one of the most boggling resumes in current circulation. Hey, someone needs to direct the straight-to-video Beverly Hills Chihuahua 2, right? Right...

Zamm.s directorial credits include . are you ready for this? . Carrot Top.s Chairman of the Board from 1998, as well as the straight-to-dvd sequels Inspector Gadget 2, Beverly Hills Chihuahua 2 and Tooth Fairy 2 with Larry the Cable Guy. Moviehole, which breaks the news of Zamm.s hiring, says that the Rascals movie will begin filming in Los Angeles next month, once casting has been completed. Just when you thought Eddie Murphy's career might be taking a tentative step back in the right direction with Brett Ratner's Tower Heist, along comes news that he is slumming it yet another low brow family film (which also happens to be produced by Ratner). It was announced this week that Murphy will be voicing the title character in the upcoming big screen adaptation of the Hanna-Barbera cartoon Hong Kong Phooey. As you can probably guess, it will not be fully animated but rather another live-action / CG hybrid in the vein of Alvin and the Chipmunks, The Smurfs, and fellow Hanna-Barbera creation Yogi Bear. Alcon Entertainment founders Broderick Johnson and Andrew Kosove had this to say about the announcement: "We could not be happier that Eddie Murphy will star as Phooey. There is no overstating his contributions to cinema, and to such enduring stars of family entertainments such as Shrek and Dr.

As of late it seems like the folks at Hanna-Barbera are having a garage sale with the rights to their old TV shows. In the past few years we’ve seen a horrid adaptation of Yogi Bear, an even worse Smurfs film (with a 2nd coming 2013), and now Alcon pictures has decided to bring everybody’s number one super guy to the big screen. That’s right ladies and gentleman, I can only be talking about the one and only, Hong Kong Phooey.
Alcon Entertainment is indeed planning on a combination live action/animation rendition of the 70s classic which revolves around a mild mannered police station janitor who also doubles as a bumbling kung-fu practicing crime fighter. Alcon Entertainment has chosen Eddie Murphy to voice the role of this crime fighting pooch and perhaps this will be the film’s only saving grace. Murphy can be real hit or...

Who is the guy who will voice Hong Kong Phooey? According to The Hollywood Reporter, actor Eddie Murphy will voice the title character in the film “Hong Kong Phooey.” The film will based on the Hanna-Barbera animated 1970’s cartoon about a kung fu crime fighting superhero dog. It will be a combination of live-action and animation for this big screen adaptation. Alcon Entertainment also chose Alex Zamm (“Beverly Hills Chihuahua 2,” “Inspector Gadget 2”) to helm the project. “We could not be happier that Eddie Murphy will star as Phooey,” said producers Andrew Kosove and Broderick Johnson in a statement to TheWrap. “There is no overstating his contributions to cinema, and to such enduring stars of family entertainments such as ‘Shrek’ and ‘Dr. Doolittle.’” Other producers will include Jay Stern, Brett Ratner and Steven P. Alcon Entertainment has announced that Eddie Murphy will voice the title character in the upcoming big screen adaptation of the 1970s Hanna-Barbera animated TV series "Hong Kong Phooey." The property revolves around a mild-mannered dog named Penry (Murphy) who stumbles into a mystic ceremony and is accidentally granted mystic powers, including the ability to walk, talk, and do kung fu. Under the tutelage of his kung fu master, Penry dons a costume and becomes Hong Kong Phooey, and with the help of his trusting sidekick Spot the cat cleans up a rogues gallery of wacky criminals. Alex Zamm (Tooth Fairy 2, Beverly Hills Chihuahua 2, Inspector Gadget 2) is on board to direct the live-action/CG animated film. Brett Ratner is producing.

Alex Zamm (Inspector Gadget 2) will direct Marvin the Martian for Warner Bros..
Along with Zamm, writers Paul Kaplan (TV’s Big Wolf on Campus) and Mark Torgrove have been tapped to write the script.
Marvin the Martian will be a fusion of live-action and CGI animation, similar to 2003’s Looney Tunes: Back in Action, which was dismal failure for the studio.
Broderick Johnson, Andrew Kosove and Steve Crystal will produce the project.
Production is slated to begin sometime in 2010 with a release in 2011.
Looney Tunes: Back in Action starred Brendan Fraser and Jenna Elfman with appearances from Heather Locklear, Joan Cusack and Steve Martin. The film earned near $21 million domestically with a budget of $80 million. Ouch.

A Marvin the Martian movie sounds like a good idea, probably. There is no cartoon character more underrated. Unfortunately, the film will also following the recent trend of CG character in a live action world, which might work for some movies in which humans exist, but Marvin also exists in his own fictionalized, cartoon universe, so it will stray far from its original roots. The crew doesn’t fill one with much hope, either. The La Times reports that Alex Zamm has signed on as the director, and he has to his credit films such as Inspector Gadget 2 and Dr. Doolittle: Million Dollar Mutts (a franchise so bad that even Eddie Murphy has vacated it). The writers are Paul Kaplan and Mark Torgove, who have both worked on Spin City and George Lopez. Their upcoming writing project is a CHiPS remake. Supposedly Mike Myers could be approach to play the martian,...

I was a little surprised when a solo movie vehicle for interplanetary Looney Tune zealot Marvin the Martian was announced but that was some time ago and since then, I assumed it was dying a slow death out in the cold. Not so, apparently and Alex Zamm, director of the upcoming Bevery Hills Chihuahua 2 and previously attached to a Hong Kong Phooey adaptation, has been tapped to take on directing duties. The only one of Zamm's movies that I've actually seen was Inspector Gadget 2, which he also co-wrote, and I have to say that I don't remember it very favourably. Maybe he's come on in leaps and bounds since then? I certainly share this love of cartoons he's apparently indulging, and I respect his desire to elasticise some live action movies into toon territory. It's been so long since the Marvin movie was last talked about I'm a little...

It's a long standing tradition in Hollywood of course to play it safe rather than risk making something completely original. Sequels? Remakes? Movies based on old TV shows or even toys? Yeah, you know what I'm talking about. Many is the time we've all rolled our eyes at the notion of a favorite film being needlessly sequelized but the very bottom of the sequel barrel is the straight-to-dvd kind.
Over at Moviefone Kevin Polowy has assembled a list of 15 Ludicrous Straight-to-dvd Sequels That Actually Exist. Some aren't all that surprising. Much beloved and still funny kids’ cartoon Hong Kong Phooey is about to go into production based on a script by David Goodman (TV’s Family Guy).
The 1970s Hanna-Barbera cartoon saw a dog, the mild-mannered janitor of a police department, gifted with the powers of kung-fu, which he then kept a secret to do battle with crime on the streets. Unfortunately, he wasn’t very lucky and frequently got himself into all sorts of comedy hijinks.
The film is described as ‘live-action/animated’, so expect a horrifyingly scary version of Hong Kong Phooey himself to stare out at you with dead eyes. Odds are it’ll all look something like last year’s highly profitable Alvin and the Chipmunks movie. Hong Kong Phooey is to be directed by Alex Zamm (Inspector Gadget 2) and is produced by, among others, Brett Ratner of Rush Hour and X-Men 3 fame.

Today both Variety and The Hollywood Reporter have their own scoop to break about the live-action/computer generated Hong Kong Phooey movie. First, green (Variety) reports that the film has signed a director, one Alex Zamm. A quick look at Zamm's IMDb credits shows that he's got oodles of experience making films like Hong Kong Phooey like the direct-to-video Inspector Gadget 2 and one of the many Dr. Doolittle sequels that didn't star Eddie Murphy, so I suppose if you have to make a movie about a talking dog that knows karate, Alex Zamm is a pretty good choice.
Red (the Reporter) is breaking the news that the Hkp movie will be written by David Goodman who comes to us after working in the trenches on Family Guy. He also penned the screenplay for next year's remake of Who is Killing the Chefs of Europe?

Hanna and Barbera are both probably spinning in their graves from the news that came down today that ‘Hong Kong Phooey’ will be getting a live action/animated feature film. Alex Zamm will be directing from a screenplay by David A. Goodman
The animated series followed the adventures of Phooey (Aka “Number One Super Guy”) whose alter ego is that of mild mannered janitor, Penry. He has a Phooeymobile. He takes his ideology from “The Hong Kong Book of Kung Fu.” He has a partner, a police cat named Spot.
Goodman has mostly written for TV, but he has served as co-executive producer on “The Family Guy” and “Futurama.” Zamm’s directing duties have been seen in such classics as ‘Chairman of the Board’ and ‘Inspector Gadget 2.’ That’s right. ‘Inspector Gadget 2.’ The producers behind this adaptation couldn’t even get David ‘Cool as Ice’ Kellogg to step into the director’s slot.
