This was a revision of L.A. Takedown, Michael Mann's previous attempt to launch a new TV show.
CBS cancelled the series after 10 episodes despite decent ratings. The remaining three unaired episodes premiered on the USA Network in April 2003.
Many seasoned technical advisors worked on the show: Chic Daniel, an LAPD living legend who served +20 years in Metro Division (C-Platoon and SWAT) ; Robert Deamer, a gang enforcement expert who is one of the most decorated veteran of Special Enforcement Unit (ex-C.R.A.S.H.); and Officer Todd Rheingold, a highly skilled Special Weapons And Tactics operator.
