Smita Patil's last movie.
This film was started in the early 80s when Raaj Kumar and Hema Malini were a popular pair and Mithun Chakraborty and Smita Patil had just switched to doing commercial films. However it was delayed and released years after Smita's death. But Smita had completed her entire work for the film including dubbing.
Producer Sher Jung Singh removed director K. Yogee from the film and completed it himself.
The film did not have a theatrical release and was released straight onto VHS video in 1989.
Parveen Babi signed the film then disappeared to America. Next Tina Munium was approached. She declined as she did not want to act opposite Mithun. That is when Poonam Dhillon was signed.
