The Legend of Zelda: Oracle of Ages (2001)

Trivia

The Legend of Zelda: Oracle of Ages

Edit
Originally, the idea was to create three interconnected games called the Triforce Series (later renamed Mystical Seed Trilogy). Each game was to be themed for a piece of the Triforce: the Mystical Seed of Power would be action-based, and the Mystical Seed of Wisdom puzzle-based. Due to the complexity of developing three interconnected games, the third one, Mystical Seed of Courage, was canceled and its gameplay never revealed. Mystical Seed of Wisdom was then developed into Oracle of Ages (using a time-travel element conceived for Mystical Seed of Courage), and Mystical Seed of Power as The Legend of Zelda: Oracle of Seasons (2001).
Released at the same time as The Legend of Zelda: Oracle of Seasons (2001). Both games can be played separately or in random order, but finishing one game will provide a password that can be used to affect the gameplay in the other. Furthermore, it unlocks an additional ending in the second game that reveals an overarching plot.
The game (and its companion piece The Legend of Zelda: Oracle of Seasons (2001)) takes place chronologically between The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening (1993)/The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening DX (1998)/The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening (2019) and The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds (2013).
The 10th The Legend of Zelda video game.
