Was Norway's submission for the 2002 Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film.
Seven-years-old Vera Rudi had a say in the fact that it was Jørgen Langhelle who got to interpret the role of her father on film. During the audition, everyone had to go through a scene where Vera's arm is pinched. Afterwards she said: "I want Jørgen to play my dad. He was the only one who didn't hit me hard."
