The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring (2002)

Trivia

The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring

Edit
This is the only video game on Playstation 2, Xbox to feature Tom Bombadil and his wife Goldberry as they help out the 4 hobbits, Frodo, Sam, Merry, Pippin and features 3 main stories, The Old Forest, In the House of Tom Bombadil and Fog on the Barrow-downs, it also featured Old Man Willow and the Barrow Wrights. This isn't featured in the New Line Cinema Hollywood movie version "Lord of the Rings: Fellowship of the Ring" 2001 or in the BBC radio play version as the 3 chapters in "Fellowship of the Ring" were left out of the story.
"The Lord of the Rings: Fellowship of the Ring" video game ends on a cliffhanger with the fate of Boromir unknown which is assumed he was killed by arrows. There were no sequels made and missing are including "The Two Towers" or "The Return of the King" There was a planned Sequel Called The Lord of the Rings: The Treason of Isengard but it was cancelled possibly due to EA video game releases of The Two Towers and Return of the King.
The scene where Gandalf touches the one ring with his bare hands before throwing it in the fireplace, is also shown in the 1978 cartoon movie "The Lord of the Rings" where Gandalf also touches the one ring. In the book, he wouldn't even touch the ring with his bare hands as it would tempt and corrupt Gandalf.
The Scouring of the Shire event was never featured, although it was hinted in The Mirror of Galadriel that Ted Sandyman has taken over the Shire possibly under the orders of both Lotho Sackville-Baggins and Lobelia Sackville-Baggins who hired Ruffians to take over the Shire and they dug up Bag end and kicked Gaffer out of his home. The Ruffians industrialized the Shire, by tearing down the old mill and replaced it with a brick factory, dug and burned the lands, cut the trees down including the big tree, made hobbits slaves or imprisoned them and locked up Lobelia. Later on Saruman and Wormtongue took over the Shire after being expelled from Isengard. Wormtongue murdered Lotho Sackville-Baggins. Later on in "The Return of the King" as Frodo, Sam, Merry, Pippin are heading home, they hear bad news from Barliman Butterbur at the Prancing Pony Inn that the Shire has been taken over and ruined by Ruffians, they quickly return home without Gandalf who talks to Tom Bombadil. Frodo and his companions storm in the homelands of the Shire, they talk to Farmer Cotton and rouse up the Hobbits who stand up against the Ruffians including Ted Sandyman who went into hiding and was never heard from again. After fighting at The Battle of Bywater and killing 100 ruffian men, they go to Hobbiton to have a showdown against Saruman and Wormtongue who took over their home at Bag End. Wormtongue rises up against Saruman and kills him with a knife and was shot by arrows and dies. Frodo, Sam, Merry, Pippin cleans up the Shire and rescues Lobelia who gives them back their home before she died. Sam plants a new seed Galadriel gave to him and a new tree sprung up and Sam marries Rose Cotton and has children, but Frodo leaves for the Grey Havens for good to heal his tortured wounds from the one ring. Since the game didn't get to the Scouring of the Shire events, it's unlikely that there will ever be an event due to the fact that "The Fellowship of the Ring" ended on a cliffhanger and the video game sequels were cancelled.
