According to series creator Greg Miller, the original voice of Robot Jones was created with Microsoft Word 98 text-to-voice software. The character's voice was changed to a human, Bobby Block, in the second season. Block's voice was dubbed over the original voice in subsequent season one re-broadcasts.
Greg Miller submitted his pilot for the series to Cartoon Network in 2000, which aired as part of the channel's "Voice Your Choice Weekend" marathon. It ultimately ranked second in popularity to The Grim Adventures of Billy & Mandy (2003).
This used to be made with a robot voice but that was changed to a child voice but the robot voice episodes remain lost so that makes some of this lost media
Robot Jones being given an actual human voice threw off viewers, whom enjoyed the synthesized voice.
A lot of the issues stem from the adults not comprehending that ROBOTS do not have the same attributes as humans.
1) The PE coach is obsessed with forcing Robot Jones to shower, even though he CANNOT sweat and thus does not get dirty like a human. 2) Principal Madman (yes, that his actual name) is dumb enough to think Robot Jones needs to get a fly shot for a HUMAN disease. 3) SCANTRON aside, Robot can easily help the kids cheat on tests himself due to his extensive memory and ability to print information. 4) Robot goes temporarily insane due to the Yogmin Twins cheating in the Rubix Cube contest by swapping stickers. The judge should have been able to see this.
