This film was shot on 16mm in 13 days in and around Mexico City without a single permit, stuntmen, generator or catering. Commando cinema was reborn on this no-budget production.
This is Marko Zaror's first martial arts feature film, it was initially shot in 2001, then in 2003 it was re-edited with 4 new actions scenes and finally released in Ukraine, then it went on to the rest of the world...
Hugo Stiglitz and director Peter Van Lengen choose directly from Hugo's personal wardrobe for his three costumes in the film. Hugo Stiglitz shot all his scenes in one day.
This film was first screened in Mexico at the Festival Internacional de la Cuidad de Mexico, FICCO, 2007.
Marko Zaror in his first starring role in a feature film. Chinango was shot in 2001 and then additional scenes were shot in 2003. The final film was done in late 2003 and released on DVD initially in eastern Europe and southeast Asia.
