Get a special ending if you get all characters. Also if you beat the game and keep a save file, you can use your save file when playing suikoden 2.
The game contains 108 companions known as the Stars of Destiny. All of them have fully realized back stories.
There is a sequel entitled "Suikoden 2." It continues the story.
