Trivia

Terror Toons

Edit
The Ouija board game in the film had to be incorrectly spelled to "Weegee" to avoid copyright infringement with Hasbro's trademark.
Due to the film's shoestring budget (only $2,300), there is virtually no animation present in the film in spite of being a parody of old cartoons, aside from clip art composited into some shots of the film. As a result, the cartoon characters including Dr. Carnage and Max Assassin had to be played by live actors.
The opening theme that plays through the credits is taken from Beetlejuice (1988).
Candy's superhero costume is based on the appearance of Stephanie from Lazytown (2002).
Though the main cast (and some of the characters in the Terror Toons cartoon) are supposed to be children, they were played by adult actors. Reasons for this are because suitable child actors could not be found for the roles, child labor laws, along with the fact that the film's gory violence could not be performed with child actors for obvious reasons.
