Trivia

Dexter's Laboratory: Chicken Scratch

Edit
Originally aired in theaters with The Powerpuff Girls Movie (2002).
Distributed by Warner Bros. Pictures.
Chris Savino, Paul Stec, and Chris Battle was originally not credited from this short. Savino was a showrunner and producer with Genndy Tartakovsky from this short but was uncredited. Stec was an art director from this short, but was left uncredited. And there's Battle, who designed the backgrounds and characters but was uncredited. However, the three were shown as part of the show's season 4 episode credits.
This short was originally released on June 22, 2002 in Los Angeles Film Festival, but was released in July 3, 2002 as a featurette of The Powerpuff Girls Movie (2002) before the last three episodes of the third season premiered on the following week until the show's next season was premiered on November 2002 (and a rerun of the short premiered on November 2003 as a sister episode with "The Lab of Tomorrow" and "Garage Sale" from the show's fourth season).
This is the first short that Paul Stec was an art director, who designed the 1950's and 1960's UPA/Hanna-Barbera-themed backgrounds, character designs, and limited animation based on the comic book. He later began to work on the first episode Beau Tie/Remember Me?/Over-Labbing (2002) in the show's next season, replacing David P. Smith who worked on Whatever Happened to... Robot Jones? (2002).
