There are not many movies that needed sequels. Just a few of them were made worth watching. There are extremely few movies that needed remakes and even less of them justified their appearance.
This movie is a sequel of a remake... What more should be said? Yes, you can leave your kids alone watching it. If your leg is broken you can watch it with them (I see no other good reason but being unable to move with remote broken). The trouble is that in this sequel teenagers seem to be more highlighted, so it may be less interesting for youngsters. But you'll need armed guards to keep 21st-century-teenagers watch till the end of this movie.
So who is the target audience? I have no idea. Uncles maybe. I was a kid, a teenager, an adult, a parent, but never an uncle. If I were, maybe...
