The Laila O Laila song in Judge Mujrim was inspired by the Muqabala Muqabala song in Humse Hain Muqabala.
Surendra Pal carried his famous look from Zee Horror Show as Vikranta Jabbar. As the look and the episode was popular, the producers of this film decided to maintain the same look.
The film went into production in 1994 and went in and out of production several times due to financial issues. When the film was eventually was completed - some songs were added in 1997 to add to the appeal of the film including Laila O Laila which was shot over the completion of the film.
Despite Jeetendra playing the title role, he was kept out of the film's publicity such as the cassette's and CD cover's. This was done due to Jeetendra's declining star power.
The film did not have a theatrical release in British Columbia,Canada.
