When Hayato Jin chooses to ram the Tower carrier into Shin Dragon, a close-up of one of the panels lists the Tower's registration number as 'NCC-1701-F' (a step above the current Enterprise at the time)
In episode 8 ('Blood and Ice'), one of the members of the Arctic team is credited as "McCreedy" a reference to 'John Carpenter''s The Thing (1982). The Invaders attack in a similar manner to the creature, through assimilation.

The narration in the original Japanese track is provided by Akira Kamiya, the man who was the first to play Getter-1 pilot Ryoma Nagare (in the original series and Getter Robo G.)
The main antagonists, Cohen and Stinger, originate from another series created by Ken Ishikawa, known as Majuu Sensen. Both characters also went by different names in that series, Cohen was originally named Dr. Shaft, while Stinger was originally named Dr. Valvia.
