Amrish Puri suffered a very serious injury while shooting the film. To his face and hands. This would later cause severe complications to his health leading to his death.
The film was launched as Balidan in 1997. Urmila and Juhi Chawla were the signed. The film got shelved after the announcement. Sunil Shetty was also starred in the film as an army officer.
Producer Harish Shah blamed Sunny Deol of the endless delays. He accused Sunny of stalling taking a huge signing amount then giving priorities to other films London, then Dillagi.
Amrish Puri and Sunny Deol's character first names were actually their real life first names. Amrish Puri's character was Amrish Kaul and Sunny Deol's was Ajay Kaul. Sunny Deol's was born as Ajay Singh Deol
Jackie Shroff was signed for a role in the film but opted out.
