Wai-Kwong Lo nearly suffered paralysis during his fight scene against Kane Kosugi when he was smacked against a metal cage on a wire. After 5 minutes of motionless, Lo was okay and continued shooting the fight scene.
Masaya Kato was originally to have spoken Japanese in the film. However, as filming progressed, he learned that his character would be speaking more English and Cantonese than his native Japanese. In all his scenes with Kane Kosugi, Masaya speaks English.
