When Mark Hamill was asked by a Twitter follower if he had any recollection of making this special, Hamill's reply was: "I've done so many VO's over the years, there are projects I have no memory of... This is one of those projects."
On September 13, 2015, the Lost Media founder Dycaite found a copy and released it during Found Media Week.
The working title of the special was "The Bash Street Kids: Believe In Santa". The title of the special (and the name of the city) were likely changed because a "The Bash City Street Kids" comic already existed and the producers of this special wanted to avoid any potential legal conflict.
An Easter sequel was planned but was cancelled due to the negative reception of this special.
This aired in syndication on many WB, ABC, and CBS stations once in 2002, and was never aired again.
