The story, well, not good. But the cars!! I own a beefed up 99 mercury cougar too. My friend and I too are in a street racing team. I installed a supercharger on my cougar with a dragon z body kit and new aluminum wheels. My friend has a Corolla with 500 horses with his second turbo boost. Man, the spirit and the understanding of car lovers is great in this film. Enjoy the film's sound of exhausts, beefed cars, NOS carrying cars, the street racing spirit, and the driving techniques.
This movie is very understandable since the cars are street racers, not supercars. Teen age kids can work their ass off and actually assemble a kick ass car like the ones in the film. Well, some cars were kind of expensive, but like I said, my friend's car is a Corolla. My cougar was $5K used. Supercharger was $3K.
It is a must see for all car lovers, since there is a really awesome American car in the film too. As for me, I felt rivalry toward South California, since I too compete in street races.

OK, I've read some pretty harsh comments on this movie. Now, let me state this: This is not a multi-million dollar movie. This movie was not shot using stunt drivers, stand-ins, and using special effects to create the illusion of speed. This movie was made using real street racers from California and their real cars. Nothing was built just for the film and none of the races were staged either.
That being said, I say this is a great movie because of all of the statements above. The warning on the front cover warns all viewers of the realism included. That should have been a waring to all who gave this movie a poor rating that, "Hey, this movie may not be Hollywood fake like the fast and the furious was." This movie was created by someone who wanted to depict what real street racing was all about. It follows the lives of street racers and is based more on "Documentary with a storyline". That is, it shows what really happens on a day-to-day basis in the lives of us underground racers.
Long review short: If you want a real story with real excitement, this is your movie. If you are a street racing fan and want to see how we live on a day by day basis then watch this film. If you are looking for cheesy Hollywood knock offs with million dollar camera effects and retarded stories about robbing trucks, look elsewhere.

I heard an read harsh comments about this movie, so i watched it and when I found out how it was made I was extremely impressed loved it better than most high budget movies especially on a 750k budget back before 4k vision wasn't heard of, most of these harsh comments are from people who are used to high budget Hollywood films and not knowing the background of the movie and don't forget this movie was made in the late 99s early 2000 and used actual racing footage no stunt men no million dollar producer or actors this is howstreet racing was and still is to this day just catching up with the bros racing and cruising Nice job on a good movie.
This movie is complete trash. The film is way to grainy and there are so many effects going on you cant even tell what is happening in the shot. There is never a single clear shot of any of the cars while they are driving (which is like 5 min of the movie). There is WAY to many close ups and extreme close ups that are just frustrating. It looks like a project for a film school that was made while high. The story is extremely weak, and there is hardly enough street racing in it to even call it a racing movie. The cars are what drew me in, I'm a sucker for tuners, but they played no key role in the film and were not even that cool. IT IS A CHEAP LOVE STORY!!!!!
This film was a real waste of time, do yourselves a favor and don't watch this!
It has no plot whatsoever, its a movie about NOTHING.
And the "experimental cinematography" is really REALLY bad, it looks like they gave a bunch of apes a few cheap webcams and trained them to film the "actors"...
Even the racing sucked, the picture was so grainy and bad-quality looking i couldn't even enjoy the race scenes ... not that there was anything there to enjoy, really ...
Bottom line - a total waste of time, and a fine example of "how to NOT make a movie".
