    Ghostbusters!

Ghostbusters is one of the most exciting fighting video games! The characters, the action, the scariness and the sure thrill of excitement makes this game a fun non-stop playing time! Below is a brief look how I think the game is!

Game Play: The game play is very good. There is really basic controls here and is easy to perform. Novice gamers should have a good time here!

Graphics: The graphics are wonderful especially for the Nintendo System! The backgrounds are really beautiful!

Difficulty: The game is easy but as it goes on you find out that it will become more difficult!

Music: The music is great! Just fantastic catchy tunes through out the game! In My opinion its some of the best music ever in a video game!

Sound: The sound is great. Nuff said!

Overall: I have always loved Ghostbusters! If you like scary and action adventure games then I strongly recommend you play this game!

I loved the movie and was psyched for the game...then I played it :(

This game was just a complete disappointment for me. I so loved the movie, saw it multiple times and when I saw this game for rent I had to have it. Thankfully, I did rent it before buying it, because this game was a total disappointment. My guess it was on the C64 before it made its way to the Nintendo and this game is a direct port, which would explain the really shoddy graphics. I know it is the Nintendo, but even by those standards the game should look better than what we get here. I mean look at Zelda or Super Mario Brothers. This one has you going around a street map, you have to buy your equipment before heading to a building and it is time to bust some ghosts. Every now and then you can enter the Zuul building and if you do, you will need a turbo based controller to get up them stairs or fingers of steel! Not joking here, I finally made it up thanks to the NES advantage! I kind of get scared at the idea of a human who can manage to press the buttons fast enough to make it to the top. Most of the game is driving to get where you are going. Suffice to say it is not so much the ghosts that get you on the mean streets, but the horrible drivers. You bust ghosts to get money, you get money to buy better equipment, and you need that equipment to make it up the hellish staircase in the Zuul building. Catching ghosts is a bore, but once again now knowing this game was most likely the same one for the C64 it is a bit more understandable. Still does not make up for my disappointment as a child though.

Genesis version is actually not that great. C64 is better.

I found this game to be very difficult on the C64. Along with busting ghosts around New York you had to manage the company's budget. The more ghosts you successfully caught (not that easy) the more money you got and you could upgrade your equipment and Ecto-1. Like I said, I wasn't very good at it and the game always went very badly once Gozer came to town. The Keymaster and the Gatekeeper would find each other and then that would be 'game over'.

Knowing full well that the Genesis version is completely different, I thought I would give it a go anyway. It's not good. Instead of being a skill-based sort of RPG it's a horrid platformer with poorly designed, absurd levels and ugly characters that look like head-knockers. The managerial aspect is still there but not as fun. And why are the Proton Packs not flying out proton streams? They fire slimy bullets instead. What? That's not what we saw in the movies! It's actually very similar to the Extreme Ghostbusters: Code Ecto-1 game released for the GBA in 2002. It's a rather boring platforming shoot-em-up that makes you feel like a Ghostbuster in no way at all.

I'd actually stick to the C64 version.
