The film was squeezed between two Amitabh films Toofan and Jaadugar while they both proved box office disappointments this film became a great success.
Dharmendra was a emotional mess during the making of the film. He would be constantly be drinking due to his sister being in a coma. When his sister passed away,it was his wife Prakash who begged Anil Sharma not to inform Dharmendra that his sister passed away. They feared Dharmendra would not be able to take the news and have a nervous breakdown. Once Dharmendra landed in Mumbai, the news was finally given to him.
Joginder accused Dharmendra of having his role slashed at the editing table.
Sushma Seth who played Dharmendra's mother is 1 year younger to him in real life.
