The audio cassette company released the female version of the song Thanda Thanda Pani by Arpita Raaj. The song was a added bonus song. Baba Sehgal's music label Magnasound decided to sue the record label the produced the song.
The film was originally titled Muqadma.
The audio cassette of this film had included a bonus song - a version of Baba Sehgal's popular rap song "Thanda Thanda Pani", sung by Arpita Raaj. Baba Sehgal had alleged copyright violation and complained to his label Magnasound about it. The music label for this film, Megastar, had made the necessary royalty payment to Magnasound when this had controversy broken out. Ironically, "Thanda Thanda Pani" itself was plagiarised from Vanilla Ice's 1990 hit "Ice Ice Baby", which in turn was based on the bassline of the song "Under Pressure" (1982) by Queen. Dhin Tak Dhin Tak from Balwaan. This song was plagiarized from "Ice Ice Baby" (1989) by Vanilla Ice. But what is even more amazing is that Freddy Mercury from Queen, who lived in India in his childhood, copied the song " Aao Bacho Tumhe Dikhaye" from Jagriti (1954). What he sampled was the word " vande mataram... vande mataram" and turned it into a guitar tune that was used at the intro of the song and carried thru out.
The film did not have a theatrical release in British Columbia, Canada.
Dimple Kapadia had several problems previously with director Avtar Bhogal during the making of Zakhmi Aurat. The producers had bashed Dimple in the media stating Dimple was not promoting the film. Dimple stated that Avtar was nobody till she worked with him in his film. They finally put all their differences aside and worked together once again in Aaj Kie Aurat.
