The only film produced by Kader Khan and the film was also written by him. After Shama Kader Khan was to make Jahiil with Amitabh Bachchan and Jaya Prada but the film was shelved Kader Khan was to write, produce and make his debut as director with Jahiil. Another Amitabh Bachchan film was shelved at that time was Amjad Khan's Lambha Chawdayi.
Many from the film were upset that Kader Khan was yet to pay them for the film. Usha Khanna was promised a Toyota car as payment but Kader Khan failed to live up to his end of the deal.
It was only in two films, the Sanjeev Kumar-Amitabh Bachchan film Khuddaar and Shama, that Kader Khan wrote the complete script with dialogues. Shama was also produced by him - his wife being billed as the official producer. "It was a very good and progressive subject that starred Shabana Azmi, but people did not take to it. I had a lot of trouble producing the film and came to the conclusion that creative people should not plunge into production," says Khan ruefully. The film was a box office disaster.

Kader Khan was very hopeful to make another film Jaahil which he was to make debut as director. Kalyanji-Anandji were to be the music composers of this film.But his best friend Amitabh Bachchan had let him down and Kader Khan never thought of making film again
