Roger Corman approached the SyFy channel with an idea for a sequel, which they turned down for fear of it being a total bomb, so Corman scrapped it until 2007 when it was reintroduced as a new film called Supergator, which he produced. as well as the 2010 sequel to both films, Dinocroc vs. Supergator.
The actual name of the dinosaur is Suchomimus.
